Hello! My name is Eri Harigai. I was raised by a Japanese father and a Taiwanese mother in Hong Kong. I grew up influenced by a random mix of American/Chinese/Japanese pop culture, Manga/anime, and an education at a British international school.

Four years after moving to London, I am now a graduate of Central Saint Martins with a BA in Graphics Design, specialising in illustration. I had a lot of opportunities to work on live briefs and was shortlisted and featured in-book at Lloyds Bank Art of Nurture competition and the D&AD student annual.
I have also had the privilege to contribute to world music artist Baaba Maal's animated music video “Television”.

I love to doodle weird characters using marker pens, pencil, pens, calligraphy brush and then colour it in digitally. My style is influenced by comedy manga and I usually poke fun at things in my work.
As a third culture kid, I also get my inspiration from my visits to Japan and the culture shock I experience in my own country. I am also drawn to the hidden, unpleasant side of things which explains my love for ridiculous conspiracy theories, strange people and weird local news.
